私は日本生まれ・日本育ちで、高校生の頃から英語学習に真剣に取り組んでまいりました。
その際、大きな目標として英検を掲げ、3級で不合格からのスタートでしたが、
2級・準1級・そして1級と合格を重ねてまいりました。
私は、英検の学習において「学習のコツ・質・量」の3点が大切だと考えております。
英語講師として、英検合格に向けた各パートの解き方の工夫を共有し、
皆様の学習効率向上をサポートしていきたいと思います。

1級を取得した今も学習者として学び続けており、英検は単なる試験ではなく、
人生をより豊かにしてくれるものだと信じております。

I would like to enjoy learning English together with you through the Eiken examination.
If your goal is to pass the Eiken exams, I believe I can be the right teacher to guide you.

The reason I say this is that I was not very good at studying school subjects
such as math or history.

みなさん、こんにちは。玉木と申します。
大学卒業後、高校の英語教師になり、定年退職するまでずっと高校で英語を教えてきました。
在職中、30代前半にオーストラリア、メルボルンの中学・高校で約1年半、
日本語指導助手として働いた経験があります。
妻と娘一人を連れて初めて海外で生活をした貴重な経験でした。

英検への挑戦は、高校生の時に３級と２級に合格したのが始まりです。
その後、大学ではフランス語を中心に学んだので、英語からは少し遠ざかっていましたが、
英検１級にも挑戦し続けました。
しかし、大学在学中は１級には合格できず、その後教員になってからも
7・８回挑戦を続けましたが、あと少しというところでいつも不合格でした。
ずっとあきらめていましたが、４０代から再挑戦し、TOEICや通訳ガイド試験にも挑戦しながら
４４歳の時にやっと１級に合格しました。

英語教師として、また学習者としての経験を通して、英語学習の楽しさだけでなく、
大変さもたくさん経験してきました。
なので合格までのモチベーションの持ち方や英語学習での悩みや課題解決に
きっとお役に立てることがあるのではないかと思います。
楽しく学習を継続できるように全力でサポート致します。
私自身、英語はこれからもずっと学び続けるつもりです。

Hello everyone, my name is Tamaki.
After graduating from university, I became a high school English teacher and taught English
at high schools until my retirement. During my career, I had the opportunity to work
as a Japanese Language Teaching Assistant for about a year and a half at a junior
and senior high school in Melbourne, Australia, when I was in my early 30s.
It was a valuable experience living overseas for the first time, accompanied
by my wife and our daughter.My journey with the Eiken English Proficiency Test began
when I passed Grade 3 and Grade 2 as a high school student.Later, during
my university years, I focused on studying French, which distanced me from English for a while.
However, I continued to challenge myself with the Eiken Grade 1 test.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t pass Grade 1 during my university years,
and even after becoming a teacher, I tried 7 or 8 times but always fell short of passing.
For a long time, I had given up, but I decided to try again in my 40s.
While challenging myself with TOEIC and the National Interpreter Guide Exam,
I finally passed Grade 1 at the age of 44.
Through my experiences as both an English teacher and a learner,
I’ve come to understand not only the joys of learning English but also its challenges.
I believe I can help you with maintaining motivation, solving problems,
and overcoming challenges in English learning.I am committed to supporting you
so that you can continue learning in an enjoyable way.
Personally, I intend to keep learning English for the rest of my life.

During my university years, I lived in a dormitory for four years, where I had the opportunity
to live alongside many international students.
Naturally, all conversations were in English.
After graduating from university, I started working as a junior high school English teacher.
Interacting with many students allowed me to enjoy a fulfilling and
rewarding teaching career in my own way. During that time,
I continued studying English and obtained the Eiken Pre-Grade 1 certification.
Later, I worked as an English education supervisor at the Board of Education,
followed by positions as vice principal and principal, where I dedicated myself
to school management. After retiring from teaching, I challenged myself with the TOEIC test
and achieved my personal best score of 945.

I obtained the Eiken Grade 1 certification based on my belief that "to teach authentic English,
one must have authentic English skills." Since I studied entirely on my own, I faced many challenges along the way.
However, this experience allowed me to thoroughly understand the "know-how and tips for passing the Eiken exam."
With 42 years of teaching experience in national and public schools, as well as experience as an online instructor,
I am confident in my abilities as a professional English teacher.

私が語学の奥深さに気付かされたのは、イギリス留学時代のことです。
ある程度英語が理解できるようになっていた頃、映画を見に行きました。
その時みんなが笑っている場面で、一人だけ笑えていない自分がいたのです。
ショックでした。「なぜ自分だけ、皆についていけないのだろうか」と思いました。
そして語学とは単に言葉を理解するだけでは不十分だと言うことに気づかされました。
その国の文化や習慣も理解しなければ、真の意味で言語は理解できたことにはならないという事を。

帰国してから約40年間、家庭教師や塾講師として英語関係の指導をしてきました。
そして最近なって、もう少し英語力をアップさせたいと思うようになり、
まず英検2級を受け、それは難なくパスしました。
次に準1級にチャレンジしましたが、それは思っていたほど簡単ではなく、
結構苦労しましたし、時間もかかりました。
その間ににいろいろ考えさせられました。「自分の勉強の仕方のどこが問題なのだろう？」
「どうすれば弱点をクリアできるのだろうか？」と…
それで、その時学べたノウハウを皆さんとシェアできたらと思っています。
先にも述べたように、英語を習得するには時間がかかります。
でも階段を1段1段上っていくことには達成感がありますし、
自分の将来を切り開くことにもつながります。
それで、皆さんがその階段を上るお手伝いをしたいと思っています。

I first realized the profound depth of language during my time studying abroad in the UK.
By then, I had reached a level where I could understand English to some extent,
so I decided to go watch a movie. However, there was a moment in the film
where everyone in the theater burst into laughter—except me.
I was shocked. "Why am I the only one who can't keep up with everyone else?" I thought.
It was then that I realized that simply understanding the words of a language is not enough.
To truly understand a language, one must also grasp the culture
and customs of the country where it is spoken.
After returning to Japan, I spent nearly 40 years teaching English
as a private tutor and cram school instructor. Recently, I felt the urge to further improve
my English skills, so I started by taking the Eiken Grade 2 exam, which I passed with ease.
Next, I challenged myself with the Pre-Grade 1 exam,
but it turned out to be much more difficult than I had anticipated.
I struggled quite a bit and it took me a significant amount of time to prepare.
During this process, I reflected deeply: "What’s wrong with my study methods?"
and "How can I overcome my weaknesses?"
Through this experience, I gained valuable insights and techniques
that I would love to share with others.
As I mentioned earlier, mastering English takes time.
However, climbing the steps of progress one by one brings a sense of accomplishment
and opens up new opportunities for the future.
I hope to support you as you climb those steps and achieve your goals.

その後大学でも留学生と交流することで英語の学習を継続し、
企業に就職してからは法人営業部で外資企業担当の営業をしていました。
結婚後にドイツで暮らした際も、覚えたてのドイツ語の他に、

During high school, I studied abroad in the United States for a year.
There, I made friends not only with Americans but also with many exchange students
from all over the world. This experience made me realize
that "English" and "smiles" are universal languages.
Later, I continued learning English by interacting with international students
during my university years. After graduating,
I worked in corporate sales, handling accounts for foreign companies
in the corporate sales department. Even after getting married and living in Germany,
knowing English proved to be incredibly helpful alongside my newly learned German.
No matter where you are, "English" and "smiles" are universal languages
they are reliable allies that broaden your horizons.
Eiken preparation offers an excellent opportunity to learn the four essential skills:
"reading," "writing," "listening," and "speaking" in a balanced way.
And the key to turning this knowledge into practical English proficiency
is the other universal language—"smiles."
In my English lessons, I focus on helping students experience three types of smiles:
1. The smile of "I'm happy to see you again today!"

最初は独学で、英検1級取得前の１年間は専門の英検ゼミに通い、36才で幸いにして1回目の受験で合格することができました。
その時ゼミで学んだ効果的な学習方法や、指導者の熱量、生徒への温かいまなざしなどに、
その後の英語スクールでの20年に及ぶ英語指導の原点があります。

英語スクールでは幼児から社会人までを指導し、

After a brief period of living abroad in the United States and
once my child-rearing responsibilities settled,
I began studying for the Eiken exam in my early thirties.
Initially, I studied independently, but during the year leading up to my Eiken Level 1 exam,
I attended a specialized Eiken seminar. Fortunately,
I passed the exam on my first attempt at the age of 36.
The effective learning methods I gained at the seminar,
the passion of the instructors, and their warm
and encouraging attitude toward students
became the foundation of my approach to English instruction,
which has spanned over 20 years at an English school.
At the English school, I have taught students ranging from young children to working adults.
I have helped many students achieve success in Eiken exams and have even nurtured winners
in the National English Speech Contest for Elementary School students.
These experiences and accomplishments have deepened my thoughts
on the essence of English education
and have contributed greatly to improving my teaching skills.

日本で看護師として働いていましたが、アメリカで看護師として働くという夢を抱き、
一生懸命英語を勉強し、2７年前、ハワイ州の看護師資格を取得しました。
その後ハワイの総合病院で看護師として働いていましたが、3年前、母親の世話をするために日本に戻ってきました。
それを機に、長年の海外生活の経験を生かして、日本で英語を勉強する人たちが英語を使って、
仕事の幅を広げたり、海外留学、海外就職など自分の世界を広げることが出来る様に是非、お手伝いをしたいと思うようになりました。
現在は、中学生や高校生、成人向けに、受験英語、一般英会話を教えています。
私自身、英語は好きでしたが、アメリカの医療現場でのスタッフや患者さんとのコミュニケーションや、チャートを書くことなどは、最初かなり苦労し、とてもストレスで、落ち込みました。
時間をかけて諦めずに努力したことで、少しずつ苦手を克服し、患者さんからも信頼されるまでになることができました。
このような自分の経験をもとに、生徒さんのつまずきのポイントや、学習上のお悩み、
マインドセットについてもアドバイスさせて頂きながら、目標が達成できるように一生懸命サポートさせて頂きたいと思います。

I used to work as a nurse in Japan, but I dreamed of working as a nurse in the United States.
With that dream in mind, I studied English diligently and obtained my nursing license
in the state of Hawaii 27 years ago. After that, I worked as a nurse at a general hospital in Hawaii.
However, three years ago, I returned to Japan to take care of my mother.
This transition inspired me to use my years of experience living abroad to support people
in Japan who are studying English. My goal is to help them expand their horizons,
whether by broadening their career opportunities, studying abroad, or working overseas.
Currently, I teach English to middle school and high school students, as well as adults,
focusing on exam preparation and general conversation skills.
Although I always liked English, I initially struggled with communication in the medical field in the U.S.
Interacting with staff and patients, writing medical charts, and navigating
the unique challenges of the healthcare system were incredibly stressful and discouraging at first.
However, by persevering and putting in consistent effort over time,
I gradually overcame these difficulties and earned the trust of my patients.
Based on my own experiences, I aim to provide advice on overcoming obstacles,
addressing learning challenges, and cultivating a positive mindset.
I am committed to supporting my students wholeheartedly so they can achieve their goals.

はじめまして！トリリンガル(日本語、英語、フランス語)で、アーティストでもある、金井です！
幼い頃、まだ不思議の世界の様な存在であった外国にすぐに魅力され、特にその要素になったものがアニメーション。そのまま、自然な形で、絵と英語の世界へ進みました。
外国語のことを深く知りたく、また海外に直接触れたく、外国語学部に進み言語学を専攻しました。
大学で言語学はじめ英語・フランス語・日本語・中国語を学びながら、国際交流中心に言語のみならず国際的コミュニケーションや文化について知識と経験を積み、フランスはじめヨーロッパ各国を周りながら、学んだ事を現実の中で使い、その力や素晴らしさそして日本だけにいては見えないものも、見えるようになりました。

外国語というのは、私達にとっては学問ではありません、日常であり文化です。
学ぶ事は手元の本の中だけにはないので、手元に蓄えたものを元手に、生きていく大切な「言葉・文化」として存分にコミュニケーションしていくことで、無限な可能性を生み出せます。

私が何より重んじている事、それは「自由に自分らしくそして楽しく」です。
英語が得意な人そうでない人、好きな人、まだよくわからない人、興味があるけど上手く出来ない人、海外に惹かれている人、様々な人がいると思います。
それぞれの生徒さんに合う導きを提供したいと常に思っています。

語学を学ぶ、と人生が2倍、もしくはそれ以上に楽しくなるのでは、と人生の折々で感じています。
中学時代に出会ったカッコイイ英語の先生に憧れ、英語が大好きになった私は、その後、色々な言語を学んできました。
高校時代にはNHKラジオ講座でイタリア語を学び、自己紹介や注文などの簡単なフレーズしかできませんでしたが、
高校の卒業旅行でバックパックを背負いイタリアを周遊した時には、現実的に旅行する際に役に立ちましたし、
イタリア語を口にするとイタリア人の反応がとてもオープンになり、地元の人と接することが更に楽しくなる体験をしました。

その後、モロッコのアメリカン大学への交換留学生時代（1年）には、英語で授業を受けましたが、同時に現地語であるアラビア語の読み書きを学びました。
全く興味のなかったアラビア語ですが、地元のモロッコ人にちょっとしたアラビア語で話しかけるととても喜んでくれ、
その後、モロッコ中、どこに行っても歓待されました（会ったばっかりの人の結婚式に呼ばれたことも）。アラビア語は今でも学習中です。
その後、モロッコの旅行会社で英語をつかって仕事をしていましたが、モロッコではかつてフランスが宗主国だったこともあり
生活ではフランス語がかなり利用されており、必然からフランス語も学びました。
フランス語は、いまだに話すことは苦手ですが、ニュース番組を聞くと大意が取れるほどになりました。
私はモロッコで生活する上で、地元の情報を知るため、またモロッコ人とやり取りするためにフランス語を学びましたので、これで良いと思っています。
語学は目的が大事です、何をするためにその言語を学ぶのか。たとえ試験合格のため、という目標でも、英語は日本を一歩出れば必須言語ですから、試験のための勉強もきっと役に立ちます。
教える側からだけ発する一方通行でない、お互いから学べるようなレッスンが目標です。
日本語と異なる論理で構成される言語に触れる面白さ、なども折を見てお伝えできれば、と思います。
